Brief

Our media brief is to produce a music magazine front cover, contents and double page spread on a genre of our choice. Since the start of our course I have been deconstructing different genres of music magazine covers and been looking at how effective they are. Also in September we were given bridging units which had involved analysing magazines this has helped to give myself an understanding of what key features make a magazine. I am quite nervous to produce this magazine as I may come across some problems with the programme (Photoshop) or the images might not turn out the way I want them to but I do have some skills from the preliminary task which was given to the class at the beginning of the year, when we had to produce a school magazine involving us to use Photoshop and having to produce our own pictures.

  1. A good initial response to the brief Sana - I'm glad you've thought about the skills you have developed from the preliminary task and how these will be useful in your foundation portfolio pieces. Be careful thinking the genre is completly of your choice - of course we want you to pull ideas from your own interests and preferred music style but be prepared to see what your target audience want in a magazine as essentially you'll be marked on how well it meets their needs - not yours.
