I really like this double page spread, I find it very
attractive and eye catching. The image is bold and takes up a page so it seems
quite dominating, it’s all about Jessie J. I love how the masthead talks about
her uprising as a star and in the image it seems like she is actually rising
from her fur coat mainly because of the positioning of the camera shot, this is
also important for my double page spread. I need to have an effective image on
one side of the page, probably with a pull quote and a good interview.
The colours go well together, her lips slightly matches
the orange font colour so they’re still using this idea throughout the
magazine. The interview starts off with an overall explanation about who Jessie
J is and then it goes straight onto the interview with 7 questions. For my
double page spread I won’t have to think of many questions to ask but the
answers would have to be long and probably link to the next question so it
would flow like an actual interview. I will roughly ask 7 or 8 questions and have
each answers be few sentences long. Also if I still have a lot of space left I
could add a small image of the model after the interview which has also been
used for Jessie’s interview.
The questions are quite similar to what I will be asking
my artist, such as ‘How did you get started?’ or ‘Who do you want to work with
in the future?’. I will also be looking at her response for some inspiration to
gain ideas for my interview.
